It’s vital for business owners to understand their obligations as a new employer and avoid violating the law. One of the first steps as an employer will be to apply for an Employer Identification Number which this class will walk through.

There are several aspects involved in hiring employees and knowing the distinctions from independent contractors including liabilities, insurance, tax withholding, government registrations, and safety regulations and beyond. This seminar will educate business owners about the legal rules that apply when hiring 1-10 employees.

About the Presenter(s):

As a Las Vegas native, Crislove Igeleke is passionate about helping improve her community. She received her J.D. from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law and currently works at Nevada Legal Services, a statewide nonprofit providing free legal assistance for low income Nevadans. As a Community Development Advocate, she assists nonprofits, resident councils, entrepreneurs and small business to help strengthen and foster grassroots economic development.
