With a rapidly growing population of 1.2 million, Southern Nevada is among the nation’s most popular destinations for start-up businesses and companies seeking to expand or relocate. The area’s location in the hub of the Southwest is in close proximity to major markets and facilitates lower transportation costs for distribution, manufacturing and warehousing operations. The area is also home to a foreign trade zone, which provides a vital link for companies involved in international trade. Business leaders and organizations, such as the Nevada Small Business Development Center, strive to maintain the area’s pro-business environment and make Southern Nevada the number one destination for business start-ups, relocations and expansions. These efforts are enhanced by a favorable tax structure, abundant labor force and overall low cost of doing business.

In addition to a graduate assistant and student worker from UNLV, the Las Vegas SBDC has four full-time professional staff to assist existing or prospective business owners in planning their growth potential while developing and maintaining their professional management skills through free confidential business counseling and affordable seminars and classes.

The Las Vegas SBDC is the only organization in the state offering an in-depth Entrepreneurial Education Program. This 10 week course, taught by experienced entrepreneurs, takes small business owners from just managing their business to becoming their own “CEO”.

The Las Vegas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a partnership program between the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
